RUSTON, WA-January 24, 2015-Dianne Swanson, a longtime Tacoma resident, recently purchased a new home at The Commencement. For Swanson, the move marks a new chapter in her life where the day to day responsibilities of living in and maintaining a single family home are removed and she has more time to focus on her personal interests.
When Swanson decided to downsize from her former home in North Tacoma, she explored all of the condominium options in the area, familiarizing herself with each and reviewing the plusses and minuses of each product and location.
“The Commencement stood out to me from the beginning,” she said. “I loved that I would be a short walk to the Ruston Waterfront, the shops at Point Ruston and the soon-to-be finished theater, without being right in the middle of the action. Everything is close when I want it, but seems far away when I don’t. I also like being close to beautiful Point Defiance Park and one of my favorite restaurants, Anthony’s.”
While the location and views at The Commencement were the initial draws, the quality of construction and finishes sealed the deal for Swanson.
“Developer friends of mine have come to visit and all have been impressed with the quality of construction and finishes at The Commencement” she added. “Beyond the views and location, it’s the quality of this place that makes you feel as though your money was well spent.”
The area is not only safe and very family friendly, but Swanson also points out the sense of privacy that she feels at The Commencement. Because Promontory Hill, located between The Commencement the water, is to remain a park, it creates a natural buffer between areas of high pedestrian traffic while preserving her views of Puget Sound and Mount Rainier.
